Indeed. I love these kind of puzzles that look very intimidating at first but the solving procedure is pretty smooth.

Good job!

EDIT: Yea, I'm a thread-digger.
Very nice puzzle! It did feel a bit harder than a two star piece but that can be just me.

I like how you have to use every bit of information several times. In most puzzles it's just use-and-forget.

It's interesting to see some names show up more frequently than others. Tapa, Masyu and especially Fences/Slitherlink seem to be rather popular around here.
Just to get the discussion flowing... hopefully.

I'm curious about your favorite puzzle type(s). I know people have different tastes, for example I hate Sudoku which everyone seems to love etc. And to start this off I'll list my favorites:

Fences
Easy as ABC and Skyscrapers
Shadows
Spokes
Panorama (I've never even heard about this puzzle before I got here so double thanks!)
Fillomino (Thank you rantash for making such beautiful Fillominos!)
Tapa
Heyawake

And I enjoy many more. I can't help but wonder what makes some puzzles more enjoyable (subjectively) than others...

So what are your favorites?
I will update to 3.6 myself soon so I can check if I encounter the same problem.
Thanks a lot Thierry and others! So far it works perfectly. I'll let you know if I come across any more bugs (there's still the IE issue but now that the FF problem is fixed it doesn't bother me anymore, not to mention that I seemed to be the only one experiencing that).
Very cute puzzle. I really liked the style and immediately recalled author's post which I'll quote here:

There are relatively few cases where you would want to indicate that adjacent empty cells must have the same value.

Nice way to disprove your point.

So I've updated my IE finally and it didn't help. However I did manage to get an error report. Hope it helps.

I'm sorry for not being too clear. I'll try to show you what I meant.

This puzzle contains two rows and three columns without a number. I've realized these probably mean that there's no number in them and stay empty. But when I first saw it I thought it works on the same principle as ABC or Skyscrapers, where an empty row/column indicates an unknown number/letter.

However in the puzzle #717 these empty rows and columns cross on 6 places. If the emptiness denoted unknown numbers there would be no way to decide what to put in those 6 places. But when you solve the rest of the puzzle it shows you a way to solve those 6 places in a somewhat recursive way (indicated by the red color). And it looked pretty awesome no matter how easy the puzzle is.

But sadly this isn't the case.

I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by showing the picture.

I have a feeling that this one is bugged. Either that or it's a pretty big Missed Crowning Moment of Awesome. I really thought the picture will (SPOILER) show how to solve the 6 remaining pieces and it does. But somehow it doesn't...
It's nice to see that the forum isn't as dead as I feared, what with the 141 registered users and all. Thanks for the warm welcome!
Sorry for bumping this venerable thread but the bug seems to still be present.

I use Firefox version 3.5.7 and I've installed the IE-tab plugin for pages that use Active-X or those that don't work properly in FF.

I'm experiencing the same bug as the original poster under FF so I switched to IE and it worked fine. For a while. But now it refuses to cooperate anymore. Every time I try to open any puzzlepicnic.com/* page in IE it says it can't display the requested page.

Although I have to admit that I haven't updated IE for like 6 years so that may be a part of the problem.
Greetings fellow puzzlers.

I'm Michal from Czechia and as you might have guessed I love logical puzzles. Although it took me a while since I've found my way here I have to say this is in my opinion the best site of this genre. Both when you look at the quantity (you can't compete with random generators though of course) and the quality of puzzles. I want to thank all the administrators, puzzle makers, site founders and all the others for such a wonderful time killing machine.

It looks like I'll stay here for a while.
