Thanks.

I was trying to find some interesting expanded patterns and thought this was perfect, although a bit big. A bit tricky to design though. I run in the same issue with normal jigsaw, namely there not being a solution, which I couldn't anticipate in advance(the logic to deduce that number can't go there is beyond my normal capabilities). Except it's a much more annoying thing to run into at this size as it's a lot harder to backpaddle to fix it.
Thanks.

Yeah, I was trying to get the puzzle antisymmetric. I really like the built up opening. Except I couldn't manage to fit in two antisymmetric pairs in the left bottom/right top, especially as I didn't want to place them in any way that would change the opening logic. So i settled for 1 with a tricky finish instead. It took a while to find something that didn't ruin the opening.
The rating issues will always exist with puzzles like these, that do something different than normal.

The clue numbers can't be dragged as they are dead elements, but you can drag from numbers that you have already placed. You can currently only type numbers 1-9, so you are able to place a 9 click 6 times and then click and drag the rest of the numbers from the 15 you have already placed.
I understand placing the numbers over 9 isn't perfect, but you don't have to click n times on every cell to place the number.

I'm not a programmer and have no idea of the workings of these applets, so don't know what is possible.
I kinda designed this as an introductory puzzle for space management/counting. That's why I rated it 1 star. If I had to show this technique to someone, I'd use this puzzle.

It's easy to see no 2 numbers can connect to eachother to form a single area and they add to the total area of the puzzle grid. So each cell has to connect to a number.
I think the big difference between this genre and genres like heterocut, seethrough and neighbours is that the active solution element here are the numbers, where in the others the active solution element are the seperation lines. You need to fill out all numbers to get a correct solution, not just the seperated lines. That's why the number connectors here are under the left click and the seperators, which are to keep notes is under the right click. That's generally how the genres controls are oriented here.

I'm not sure how it's done on other sites. Does Nikoli have a fillomino app? All I'm familiar with is Crocopuzzle, which has no option to draw lines at all for, it's only placing numbers and the lines are drawn automatically, but not manually adjustable.

I think this opening takes more insight than the one in the test. That was more the same difficulty through the whole puzzle, where this one is harder at the start. But once you break it you'll ge through it more comfortably. I think overal the test one was easier. But maybe that's just my opinion.
Thanks. This was the original one I had made for that test. But the testing convinced me it might be too hard. I've always liked them, just hadn't really worked much on designing them before I did the test.
Thanks.
Just playing around with a little antisymmetry with the sum 5. 1-4 and 2-3 matched.
