Before we start our countdown from #5 to #1, we have two more puzzles to show that did not make the final cut.
Anurag.sahay came very close with his Rectangles puzzle that has given clues in symmetric positions with the 5 in a dominant role. The other numbers are mapped on either themselves or their doubles.
The other puzzle released today is a challenging Sudoku by Jfo, who explores relationships between different grids. Different regions with the same striped background contain the same digits in the same order.

We are pleased to present two great submissions that unfortunately did not make the top 5.
Akademik managed to express his "love at first sight" in a cute Sudoku puzzle. Anurag.sahay crafted a Masyu puzzle that displays the '5 year PuzzlePicnic' theme in a tasty "birthday cake".
Thanks Akademik and anurag.sahay for your submissions, and keep up the good work!

I have not seen this behavior for myself yet. At our last release, we did change how the main site and forum interact. This could cause the effects you describe.
I'll look into it.
