Akari is a genre that isn't on this site yet. The solver is given a grid with some black cells, and is tasked to place light bulbs on the white cells, each bulb illuminating its row and column up to the perimeter, or the first black cell encountered. Every white cell must be illuminated, but no two light bulbs may illuminate one another. Some black cells are numbered, representing how many light bulbs are on cells which share an edge with that cell. This page contains a 7x7 sample puzzle and its solution.
